One need not travel the world for inspiration. If you are receptive, it will greet you every day.
This watercolor sketch was inspired by this photo, taken from my kitchen window.

We'll have one main project, not two or three, for each week. My weekly suggestions and drawing prompts
will give you more time and a better perspective to explore your world and discover your unique path.

I have learned that it is best to stick with one main focus through drawing every day for
many summers in my career,
starting in 2006 and archived since 2008 HERE.

Clarity and simplicity will be the main focus this summer and with my guidance,
hopefully, it will be the cornerstone of yours too.

Right now, you have an opportunity to cut through the noise and clutter of living in an age of T.M.I. (Too Much Information).
Come make real progress
and (K.I.S.S.)  Keep it Simple Stupid with me this summer.

New Simplified Approach = Less Stress & More Progress

Make this the summer you really get into sketching!  Let me hold your hand and show you the way.
Start sharpening your skills now, before the June 1st kickoff of DrawingEveryday 2021

Experience my spontaneous, loose, intuitive approach to creative sketching and painting. The step-by-step class projects will demonstrate how to use reference photos to quickly interpret and express the things you love. Come and play, experiment, stay positive, and have fun!

Explore your passions and develop a series around the things you love. Create art with an understanding of classical art principles and the elements of design. Your enjoyment will blossom and grow the more you exercise your hand-eye coordination and improve your techniques

2020 Zoom Student Feedback - "Your class was great because you teach!  You emphasize drawing, (which I needed), repetition which definitely helped, and basically go from start to finish.  You are there to answer questions.  I also liked that the class didn’t drag on for 3 or 4 hours as have some others I have taken.   The idea of having a video to do alone was also something I liked besides watching you in a class.  I also liked that you introduced different paper and paints plus the fact that you broke your videos into sections. I personally loved working on the black paper with the metallics!"

Practicing your seeing and hand-eye coordination is the heart of all visual art and it will spill out into every other aspect of your life.
No longer will you waste your time at the doctor's office or at a service appointment. As long as you have a pencil, sketchbook,
and some reference material, all your days can be pleasant and fulfilling by utilizing
time to your advantage.

"Creativity is a habit, and the best creativity is a result of good work habits. That's it in a nutshell ...
In order to be creative, you have to know how to prepare to be creative."
