1. Who owns the copyright of works done from your tutorials?
Understanding Copyright
Any creations copied from my art or done from my step by step lessons are copyrighted by me, Sandy Sandy, because it is still my original design and lesson.
Your work that is done done from my tutorials and demonstrations can be initialed or signed with an abbreviated name on the front. However, 'After Sandy Sandy' should be written on the back of the original art and and on the backing board if framed or matted and should read:
By: Your Full Name, 'After Sandy Sandy' / Date / Title (if any)
Painting ID # (if Any) / Original Medium (ie: watercolor)
(The medium is important because it may be hard to tell if the piece is
alcohol ink or watercolor on Yupo which could lead to a potential sealing disaster.)
This is the standard procedure for any art done when copying from someone’s classes, demos, or tutorials; online or in-person. Please read my in-depth page about Copyright and download the free Copyright Guidelines Info-graphic.
2. How do you seal your work?
Watercolor on Cotton Rag - Doesn’t need to be sealed
Watercolor on Yupo Paper - 2-3 light coats of Krylon Crystal Clear
or Krylon UV - Resistant Clear
Alcohol Ink on Yupo Paper - 2-3- light coats of Krylon Kamar Varnish
followed by 2-3 coats of UV-Resistant Clear
Remember K comes before U!
How much time in-between coats? That depends on temperature and humidity.
Read the directions thoroughly on the cans and see the video below.
3. How do you store your work?
I store all my work in acetate sleeves which I get from ClearBags.com.
I don’t seal my paintings until I get ready to mat and/or frame them.
4. How do you sign, identify and catalog your work?
I sign the front and back of my work as well as putting,
medium, painting ID, copyright, title, care info., etc.
(See the cataloging and identifying video below.)

The video below shows how I seal all alcohol ink paintings.
*Remember K (Kamar Varnish) comes before U (UV Resistant Clear).
You would use the same procedure for watercolor on Yupo, but only need 3 coats of one product;
either Krylon Crystal Clear or Krylon UV-Resistant Clear
